MÂCON-CRUZILLE « Clos des vignes du Maynes »

Undeniably one of our favourites. Ever heard of Cruzille ? Maybe you have if you are an expert. Yet the old vines from this « Clos » which once belonged to the Monks of the Cluny Abbey deserve to be upgraded to « Cru du Mâconnais » level. The 35 to 55 year- old vines of our Mâcon-Cruzille are tended with extreme care and the utmost respect for the soil (ploughing, Biodynamic agriculture). One character of Cruzille : its late-maturing slope compared to Vinzelles for exemple. A magnificent wine, easy to single out with the character of a grand terroir. Very limited production !!

  Technical notes:
  Age of vines : from 35 to 55 years
  Surface : environ 0.15 ha (0.37 acre)
 

Soil: Clay and limestone. Very white limestone. Facing East. 35 km (21 miles) North of Mâcon. Biological and Biodynamic Agriculture

  Altitude : 300 metres (980 ft).
  Vinification & Ageing : Hand-picked grapes, whole berries pressing, 100% vinified and aged in oak barrel (of 228 liters each) for 11 months.
