Ever since we took over Domaine La Soufrandière in 2000, ever since we created our small scale « haute couture » merchant business called BRET BROTHERS in 2001 (high quality white wines from the Mâconnais region of Burgundy),  this is what has been our credo and a source of vibration and passion : the diversity and richness of the terroirs of Burgundy (locally called « Climats ») and primarily those in the Mâconnais, around one grape variety, Chardonnay.

Through these pages you will encounter our Philosophy of vineyard work, and of making great terroir wines : « Exceptional Grapes for Exceptional Wines ». A cliché ? Maybe. But this quest for ripe, healthy, balanced grapes grown on living soil and sub-soil, encourages us to keep up the demanding work in the vineyards. These grapes are true images or emblems of a respected terroir.

BRET BROTHERS We are merchants with a «  Haute Couture » structure (Fashion design !) : we exclusively buy standing grapes (we pick them ourselves) on very small plots of old vines (averaging 50 years of age).		La Soufrandière Our estate covers 4.55 ha (11.22 acres) of Pouilly-Vinzelles, converted to Biological Agriculture since 2003 (certif. ECOCERT), 1,60 ha of Mâcon Vinzelles and 0,75 ha of Beaujolais Villages.
